About Willful

For everything that matters

A will is the most important document most of us will ever sign — and the one we put off the longest. Willful exists so that sorting yours is no longer the thing you never got round to.

Your life, duly considered.

Why we exist

Most of us never get round to it

Around 33 million adults in the UK have no will. Not because they don’t care — because the traditional route is slow, expensive, and wrapped in language designed for lawyers rather than families.

So people put it off. And when someone dies without a will, the law decides who inherits — not them. Families are left to untangle estates at the worst possible moment: unmarried partners can be left with nothing, children’s guardians go unnamed, and homes and savings end up in the wrong hands.

We started Willful to close that gap — to make a properly drafted, solicitor-reviewed will something you can sort from your sofa in about 15 minutes, without compromising on the legal care it deserves.

What makes Willful different

Technology does the assembling. People do the approving.

A solicitor reads every word

Every will and LPA is reviewed and approved by an SRA-regulated solicitor before it reaches you. Not a spot check. Not a sample. Every document, every time — with a named solicitor accountable for what they sign off.

AI that assembles, never invents

Our technology builds your will from a library of solicitor-approved legal clauses. It chooses and arranges; it never writes law of its own. Your answers decide what goes in — the wording is already approved before you ever see it.

An encrypted vault for what matters

Your will lives alongside the documents your family will need — deeds, policies, pension statements — in a vault protected with bank-grade encryption, shared only with the people you choose.

Registered, so it can be found

Every will is registered with the National Will Register at no extra cost. A will that cannot be found might as well not exist — yours will always be findable when it matters.

How we work

Three things we hold ourselves to

Clarity

Wills are full of words nobody uses at the dinner table. We translate, plainly and honestly, so you always understand what you are signing — and never sign something you do not.

Care

A will is not paperwork. It is the people you love, written down. We treat every document as if the family reading it one day were our own — because someone’s family will.

Accountability

A named, SRA-regulated solicitor stands behind every document we produce. When something carries this much weight, "the software checked it" is not good enough. A person is answerable, always.
